Hi! Am vry much worried that I may be
infected with hiv because i've had a
sexual relationship with a girl whom I
didn't know. I've had hiv test in 3
weeks, 3months and 6 months respectively
after that sexual act. All the 3 tests
were negative and am not having any
symptoms as those of hiv. The girl also
had herself tested and she was also found
negative, but am still worried, I don't
know why, may be because am getting
married in 2 month. Often ther is a
question that crops up in my mind that,
may be there is a new type of virus of
which am infected with n that's why my
tests were negative. Is that thought of
mine possible? How are new type of hiv
virus discovered? Please :(

Tests taken after a 3 month duration is
95% conclusive and a test taken after a 6
month duration is 99.9999% conclusive.
An elisa test tests almost all the
possible strains of the virus and there
needs to be no doubts about the testing.
You can be almost sure about your
status.
If you are still undoubtful, there is only
one possibility which is the pcr dna test.
Though not necessary, if this thing goes
on in your mind endlessly, you may try
that to check the viral load count in your
blood. Thats very accurate,

Um, so you were engaged and had sex with
someone else that you didn't know?
