I Start a Period After Two Weeks of Proper Birth Control Use Posted: 06-16-06 11:08am
I will take my birth control (ortho
tri-cyclen lo)everyday at the exact same
time and after two weeks of use, I start
spotting brown and then something more red
like a period starts. This has happened
for 3 months now. The first two months I
thought it happened because I missed a day
or took the pill at the wrong time or
something. But this month I did it all
right and it still happend. What should I
do? Go to the doctor huh.

This can be completely normal and I wish
more doctors would talk to their patients
about the possibilities of break thru
bleeding. You are fine, there is nothing
wrong and it should go away after your
body adjusts to the hormones.
Good luck!

If you do not adjust ask your doctor for a
new kind of pill.
It is good to give it some time for
adjustment, but 3-4 months is really all
it should take.
