Mucus In Your Stool Posted: 01-15-04 09:38am
I had a scare about 2 years ago when I had
excessive bleeding from my rectum. After
a colonoscopy, I was told that I have
bleeding hemroids. In the last 6 months,
I have noticed mucus (mostly clear) in my
stool and sometimes instead of stool when
I have a bowel movement. I am unclear if
this is a sign of anything that may have
to do with colon cancer. I would like
any insight that folks could offer on this
subject.
Thanks

That was 1 of my symptoms. You need a
followup, and quickly. It could be an
infection in bowel even. I would recomend
you see a specialist asap

If colonoscopy has revealed that the
bleeding is due to the haemorrhoids, then
you need not worry about any colon changes
although you would need a regular check
up. The mucus in stool you are referring
to could be due to amoebiasis. Remedies
like nux vomica, merc. Sol., aloes,
collinsonia (homeopathic medicine) are
very good to get rid of amoebiasis and
bleeding haemorrhoids.
