I am having an ultrasound and urine
direction test this evening: my urologist
said that he wants me in asap for a
bladder cystocopy *sorry cant spell it*
now im worried I have bladder cancer or
something?
Can people put my mind at rest? When
asking him the direct question *well my
hubby did* "do I have cancer? Or any
chance" the urologist said "no no no, im
not even looking in that direction"....
I'm sorry to hear things are not getting
better!!! If your doc reassured you he is
not looking for cancer he prob is not...
A cystoscopy is one of the tests they use
for interstitial cystitis ( to diagnos ic)
. I also had a pelvic ultasound that was
only mildly uncomfortable but that can
rule out a lot like cysts and tumors..
This will also give them a better idea
what it may be or where to go next. After
I had my ultrasound they requested having
the potassium challenge test which is
another way they can diagnos interstitial
cystitis.... Please let me know how
everything went!!!!!!!!! Hope after these
tests it gives you some idea of what is
going on to set your mind at ease!!!!!

Went to ultrasound yesterday, but didnt
drink enough bloody water .The man said it
doesnt look like anythng bad on my
bladder, although he wants me to go in
this morning so have to start drinking
water at 9am, to see closely . He said
kidneys are ok ...Wish me luck I will
update you all later x

Well l had my ultrasound. No cancers
thank goodness, no tumours, bladder looks
okay. He thinks it may be an irritable
bladder, but will send the results to my
urologist. Did the pee volume test
also.
Now I suppose I wait to see what he says.

still I asked the ultra sound man again
and again,,"is everything alright?"
yes no problem. ..So I suppose its
okay...
:idea: boy..I feel like a real cheese.
Anyway they will have to do this cystocopy
thingy me jig, I think....
Still pee pee for england

Well, I Get Worse At Night And Have to Have Cystoscopy Posted: 06-25-06 04:48am
On wednesday, I have to go to hospital for
the cystoscopy.
Could be a problem with me not releasing
the urine properly therefore a little snag
in the urethra. However the constatnt
peeing is now only at night, from about
6pm onwards, ...This could be a sign of
ic.
He doesnt know until he says he has a look
around. Now im scared .... :cry:
my computer was broken, so just got a new
one, now can reply

Sorry to hear that!! Hopefully you will
have answers soon! Since I was diagnosed
with ic I have changed my diet a lot and
that has helped some... I quit taking
multi vitamins because those make it
worse!!!!!!!!!!! I was also taking
cranberry concentrate capsules and those
to were making it worse.... They have
elmiron available for ic patients I
personally am choosing not to take it
unless it is a last resort!!! The
possible side effects don't seem worth it
and it can take anywhere from 1-6 months
for the drug to take effect!!! Along with
dietary changes I am taking some herbal
remedies! Day by day I find the things
that help and make it worse... It seems
to be a "trial and error" method. Let me
know what you find out after your
cystoscopy tomarrow! My best wishes to
you!
