Pain After Filling (different Circumstances) Posted: 06-22-06 22:27pm
Brief background.
I have no insurance.
I went to the dentist for the first time
in 3 years.
2 deep cavities.
Paid $500 for 2 fillings the other day.
The dentist told me (when I was still on
local anestestic) that I wasnt "out of the
woods" and if I felt any pain to call him
to schedule a root canal.
I dont think so. Cant afford it. Well
after the anestestic wore off I was fine,
no pain. Today im driving to work and I
get these 2 burst of pain, like someone
hooked electricity up to the tooth and
tried to jump start it. A single throb,
not very painful, but very unnerving (no
pun intended) and very uncomfortable. The
rest of the day went on and it happend
twice more, I mean two short burst spaced
a couple hours a part, lasting no more
than a split second. I can eat fine, its
seems to be random.
What should I do? Is this normal? I dont
feel like calling the dentist and getting
an I told you so come in for a root canal
answer, especially when he could have
saved me the money in the first place and
just done the canal. I am very worried
and angry at the same time. Thanks in
advance for any input.
