I didn't think I was gonna cry when my sister had her baby but I started to toward the end.It was crazy seeing that! I was like 'oh my god!Heather,your having a baby!" lol

I'm probably a big freak, but I honestly have no interest in having my sensitive bits videotaped. I'm already a bit afraid of the concept of squeezing a human body through such a small opening, and the possibility of tearing or needing an episiotomy. I'll probably decline a mirror as well... I'll just ask my husband to keep an eye on the goings-on downstairs and let me know when he sees her head. There are just some things i'd rather not re-visit.

Lol...I bet you change your mind girl!! I thought I would be the same way because I hate the sight of blood...It's just somehting that goes through your brain while you're in labor....

I had her drug free and had no medical intervention with her delivery. Call me crazy...But I find the birthing process an amazing process!!!

I panic just thinking about it :( and i'm actually considering my options as far as pain management now. I've heard that labor progresses more quickly if you don't get an epidural. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to handle it (i don't have a pain tolerance that i'm aware of) but i'm trying to keep open-minded.

Maybe I can drive up to help you!! Lol....Naaah...That would be awkward huh?!?! But at least we're in the same state!!!

I didn't know if I would be able to handle it...But by the time I got to the hospital I was 5cm and it was 5 pm. By 7:58pm she was out!! I pushed through 6 good contractions and here she was!!!

It was really funny because they asked my sister if she wanted a mirror and she said no....She didn't want to watch. Well as she was pushing the doctor was like just reach down here and touch your baby's head, my sister was like no....And the doctor kept pushing her to touch the head and my sister was like, no I don't want to get dirty.....And my mom was like (to the doctor) she isn't going to do it and I think that she is getting mad. So the doctor stopped. Then once the baby was fully out to doctor tossed (that is what it seemed like) the baby on my sister's stomach and she was forced to kinda catch it so that it didn't fall on the floor and she started crying, "i didn't want to get dirty, get it off of me I don't want to get dirty" it was really funny

i guess the point is, I don't think she was too keen on watching or really being too involved in the birth of the baby. It was weird to see her . She kinda just seperated herself from the birth.

.Sarah you only had two choices in your poll. I didn't record the birth, not because the hospital wouldn't allow it, but because i'm not comfortable with the idea of immortalizing my vagina. :lol: although it probably would have come in handy if I had actually had to file a malpractice suit against my doc....Trust me, I still remember every moment of it vividly. That's an experience (and pain) that I won't ever forget...

I don't think I could've handled getting my labour videoed, I didn't even look in a mirror although the midwife keep trying to get me to, its just not something that interested me at all, the pain was bad enough just knowing what was happening let alone watching it!

We werent allowed to video tape anything.. Only pics b4 the birth and after he was out and made sure he was okay.. My bf was going to tape it.. He never asked me lol.. I prolly wo uldnt have wanted it taped at the time I was in so much pain lol and enuf ppl were already starin between my legs.. Although they could have invited the whole city if they wanted,. I just wanted him out lol.. But I kinda wish I had more to remember that experience with... For 9 months u carry this child.. U know how the birth process works and whats going to happen.. But once it actually happens, and u actually acomplish it. At least for me.. I was amazed.. Words cant even describe it..For 9 months u wait for it.. And when it happens.. It seems like a miracle.. I was kinda thinking most of the time when I was holding him.. How did I just do that?! And my bf kept saying 'can you believe the 2 of us made him!?' once they come out its just amazing to think that they were alive inside you

Lol...The main reason why I recorded it was so when she gets pregnant i'll show her that I was able to do it drug free. Maybe it'll give her the strength to do it herself.

Sarah, how long were you having contractions before you went to the hospital? Just curious how long it took for you to get to 5 cm.

I cry when I watch other people having babies on tv, so i'm going to be a crying mess when my own comes out.

I woke up that morning at about 8am with mild contractions. I thought they were braxton hicks at first. I tried laying down, drinking water, everything.

They went from every 3/4 mins. Apart to about every 2/3 mins apart at about 12pm. I went and ran a couple of last minute errands while I was contracting. At about 4:30 I wasn't able to speak through a contraction and they were getting closer together. At 5pm I was 5cm. At 6:30 I was 7/8 and my water broke while she was examining me. At 7 they checked me again and I was 9 1/2, 10 and she told me whenever I was ready to start pushing. I had no choice, by 7:30 my body was bearing down for me. I pushed through 6 good contracions and she was here at 7:58pm!!

It was faster that I thought it would be. I'm glad I didn't get the epidural or any pain meds. Or an .I.V!!

tell me honestly now, baby girl... How bad was the pain? And what's your pain tolerance like normally?

I have a pretty high pain tolerance. And a sever phobia of needles. After I delivered, I was running a fever of 103. And needed an .I.V to start antibiotics...I threw a fit!!! Even though I had just pushed out a baby with no meds.

I ain't gonna lie, the pain was there....But I had such tunnel vision and was literally out of body. I just laid there and let my body do all the work. My "midwife" or she should've been, told me to loosen my body and wiggle the pain out of my toes. In the video you can see my toes and feet wiggling the whole time...

My delivery was extreemely quick for a 1st timer....Everyone was shocked!!!

I agree with you babymagic0506 if I can do it with a 10 lb 2oz baby and no drugs anyone should be able to to do it unless their is complications or a c-section and he tore me up pretty good I just got something light when they were sewing me up but it is different strokes for different females and sure the pain is there but it only lasts for a little while and to me the blocks and stuff just holds the birth back of course I am no Dr.

Of course they numbed my vagina up....There was nooo way I had any say so it...Before I could say a word she was poking me!! I was like .Jesus..What are you doing??!?! Lol....But it was all worth it!

Post pardom was a breazze!! I had already felt the pain to the max so the after math was childs play!!

I dont know if ur coming back on here but what part of new orleans do you live in..?? Cause I was going to have my baby in laplace before we moved in november and they told me that we couldnt record the birth and that video cameras werent even allowed in the room. They told me that still shots could only be taken from the waist up... =[. Thats also the same thing they told me at the hossy I had lil casey at... Here in texas. Well I hope ur doing better && not still mad... Give me your email or something cause im coming down to kenner city soon !!! Lol I cant wait to be back home !! Chocolate city here I come..Lol !!!
