Cholesterol Theory Is Unfounded Croc Posted: 06-24-06 11:37am
No randomized tightly controlled clinical
trial has ever shown any reduction at all
in cvd mortality from saturated fat
restriction or cholesterol lowering.
Fact!
This site won't let me post links to the
facts so you will have to
Your right! Fat does not make you fat and
your body needs fat (just the good kind
though). Cholesterol is needed by every
cell in the body and doesnot cause heart
attacks. I eat a diet simular to my
ancestors including raw whole milk,
butter, eggs, cheese, beef, pork, chicken
etc. I am 78 and walk 5 miles and chop a
cord of wood.

I've posted this on a couple other forums,
but it's important info. I apologize in
advance if you've already seen this. Not
trying to spam, just trying to get
important info out to the public.
Here's the thing most people do not know.
High cholesterol is not related to heart
disease. About 50% of people dying from
heart disease have "normal" levels of
cholesterol. What you need to be
concerned about are your homocysteine
levels. You can get some good info at http://www.Homocysteine.Net/.
But here's an analogy. Imagine your
cholesterol is actually a yellow balloon.
And let's say you take this balloon and
rub it on your head to create static
electricity. You may have done this as a
kid. Then you take the balloon and stick
it to the wall. Now imagine doing the
same thing with several balloons and
putting them around a door. Eventually
it would be hard getting through the door.
Same thing is happening inside your
arteries. Cholesterol cells are getting
charged up and sticking to the walls of
your arteries until it gets to the point
where it's difficult to get through.
And how does your cholesterol get
"charged"? It becomes oxidized. A
homocysteine test will check your level of
oxidized cholesterol. Odds are you've
never even heard of homocysteine. You
can ask your doctor about this test, but
he may not have heard about it either.
The main reason is because there is no
drug to lower homocysteine levels.
However, if you take an anti-oxidant, this
will cause the cells to loose their charge
and, like our balloon, will fall off the
wall.
I actually have a cd of a presentation
given by a doctor who talks about this
very thing. If you are interested in
getting a copy, i'd be happy to send it to
you at no charge. It's about 70min long
and the presentation covers several
aspects of supplementation with
anti-oxidants. Send me an email with
your address and i'll get it out to you.
You'll learn some very interesting
things.
Incidently, statin drugs are not worth the
risk. I also have a short book written
by the same doctor about 80 pages long
which goes into the details. It includes
several pages of documentated scientific
studies comparing the effects of statin
drugs and supplementation. I'd be happy
to send this out free of charge as well.

I am new to the forum so hence the delay
in dates of reply.
I am firmly of the opinion that
cholesterol does not cause heart disease,
it is produced in reaction to it. In
fact if one was to do a cholesterol test
shortly after or during an illness, injury
or disease one would find that the
resultant blood levels are significantly
higher than normal due to the body's
response to the inflammation or damage.
The body is sending out building materials
to repair the damage. Heart disease can
be caused by unregulated blood sugars
damaging the cells, shortage of oxygen due
to smoking and a myriad other things, the
resultant inflammation of the arteries and
heart demand that the liver send out
cholesterol building blocks to repair the
damage.
It is a myth that cholesterol in food
affects the blood lipid levels. The
liver produces as much as it needs from
your body fat or else uses the fat in the
diet to produce more, the cholesterol
already in the food is what the animal
produced itself to repair it's own body
and is not digested by humans.
I agree that statins are very dangerous
drugs but doctors today seem to be of the
opinion that a 0 level of cholesterol is
the holy grail, what they will then have
is a very sick or dead patient on their
hands. Also cholesterol is the main
constituent of sex hormones without which
we would not be here. Compulsory dosage
with statins in our water supply will turn
off the liver's cholesterol production and
result in lower fertility leading to lower
sperm production and disrupted cycles in
women and probably a greater demand for
ivf. The side effects from statins are
also terrible and permanent.
I am very afraid of being dosed with
statins against my will when the powers
that be decide to put them in the water
supply as has been mooted recently. I
like my cholesterol exactly as it is thank
you very much, keeping me in the peak of
health and in full repair.
