Strange Symptoms...
Posted: 06-25-06 11:00am

If I am indeed pregnant, my body is keeping it a secret. I have been to two clinics and two tests for pregnancy have come back completely negative. I am having dreams associated with being pregnant, I am not under any undue stress, yet my body is still acting as if my second child is on the way. Why would my abdomen continue to grow if there is no child in it? I do not have ibs.
I am thirty-eight and had my last pregnancy at twenty-eight. I recently had myself checked for diabetes and that test was negative. My nipples remain sensitive in between cycles, and my breasts are chaanging as if I were expecting.
What else could this possibly be? Fraternal twins run in my family. Thought you'd want/need to know. Thanks for answering....

I still have my gall bladder, I am not familiar with cushings syndrome, and to my knowledge, have no family history of stomach cancer.
I've set an appointment for a pap smear. Will these questions be answered or confirmed by it? All of this does not address why my breasts would continue to grow and my nipples are darkening. Thank you for your answer. Are there any other "problems" that might explain my symptoms. It may even be ibs, yet I doubt it. I don't show enough symptoms.
The "pregnancy" signs have been around since 3/22/06 this was my last sexual encounter and is the date the symptoms started.
I know I am not premenopausal because women in my family ovulate into their late forties/early fifties. I am only thirty-eight. I still feel stretchingdown around my c-section scar. My son was born ten years ago. Does this change the diagnosis any? If it does/not, how? Thank you for your continued support. I highly appreciate it. Zoe cameron...

You need to see a gynecologist and get a check up. Explain the missed periods and the stretching. It is a hormone imbalance that is preventing your period from starting and the breast tenderness. You never said whether you had your period or not... I guess.. But a pregnancy test would have come up positive by now if you got pregnant on 3-22.

There are also cases of wanting to be pregnant so badly that your body will mimic pregnancy symptoms.

I looked up cushing's syndrome and I do not show other signs of that disease. I also would ot say it was pre-menopausal. Women in my family tend to cycle into their early fifties. I am only thirty-eight. The only other thing I can think of is an hysterical pregnancy.
I've experienced them ever since I became a woman in the first place. I had to have a doctor swear that I was pregnant with my son ten years ago, because I didn't believe him.
I've scheduled a pap smear for the 13th of july. I'll take the symptoms to my doctor to see what he says. Thank you for your help; I appreciate it.

Thank you all who responded to "strange symptoms" I will be at the doctors getting a smear and possibly an ultra sound done. It should clear up once and for all what is happening, or not happening. I will keep all posted. Thanks again, "honeychild"....
