Rash And Very Large Lymph Node
Posted: 06-26-06 09:54am

I recently had a lice infestation in my hair that I caught from my son, who caught it from school mates. I had to use rid on my hair (two sessions of two applications of it) but it still did not get rid of all of the lice (as I have very long thick hair)

about the same time that I realized that I had lice... I started developing bumps on my legs, stomach and chest... A few on arms and back but none on face. They are very itchy. It's almost like a bug bite... It starts out very small and itchy. When I scratch, all along the scratch mark more bumps come up. Some are beginning to heal now that I have begun the lice treatment. However, I recently used licefree, which is supposed to be orgaanic. I didn't want to use rid or nix because I had already applied 4 treatments of rid. There is now a swollen lymph node on the back of my neck at the hair line, but it doesn't seem normal. Within one week it has grown from pea size, to about almost 3 inches long and about 2 inches wide.
1) could the rash on my body (which still itches) be from an allergic reaction to the lice.... Or is it something that I could have caught from whirlpool at the spa?? Like folliculitis or something?
2) is it normal for lymph nodes to swell if you are allergic to lice bites
3) is it normal for a lymph node to get to be almost 3 inches long??
4) I am supposed to do the second treatment of licefree today, but am concerned that maybe a reaction to that has caused the lymph node to grow.... I just don't know what else to try to rid me of these stupid lice!!
