Losing Vision in the Left Eye Posted: 06-28-06 12:20pm
I'm losing vision in my left eye
gradually. It started with a black patch
covering 1/4 of the top half and in a
months time the whole vision was gone. For
about a week I could see through this
black cover in bright light like wearing
sunglasses in a poorly lit room and now I
can't see that. The most recent problem is
how sore the eye has become. I can't rub
it or press it without pain. It feels
bruised and swollen though you can't tell
by looking at it. Also the pupil is very
small and does not dialate with light. Are
these signs that the eye is dying or is it
just a huge floater affecting my
vision?

The prognosis for your eye is not good.
The pupil is small probably due to the
myotic eye drops that are used in cases of
glaucoma for easier drainage of the humor
aqueous. I recommend you consult an expert
ophthalmologist immediately.
