I don't mean to be so direct but at 37 youre chances are not as high anymore. You should ask your Dr. What you should do and shouldnt do.

If you want to have a baby, maybe you and your husband should sit down with a doctor and have him/her express his concerns and the issues, and the risks of having a baby over 35 years of age. My mom got preggers at 50 (i know that you aren't that old) but that is what she and my dad did. It gave them a good look at the risks and the extra tests that neededto be done and ect....

So maybe before trying you may just want to do that so you and your husband are fully aware of the concerns.

pretty good chance based on what tests? He can't possibly know how long it will take for you to concieve. You are at higher risk for ds at your age. The average healthy fertile couple in thier 20's has a 20-25% chance each month and is able to concieve within 6 months. You need to start trying and take it from there.

well I am your age ;) but I do not want to be having anymore babies. :p I am looking at this time in my life as my time. My time for vacations (vegas next week, baby!). The older my kids get, the easier all our lives seem to become.

That said, I don't see anything wrong with having babies at this age at all. The risk of downs syndrome is greater, yes, and your stamina will be less (obviously) but there is no reason not to have a baby if you and your husband want one! Lots of women do it.

I had a friend who got pregnant at 39 with twins ~ no fertility drugs, nothing. She never thought she could have kids, because it had never happened. A year and 1/2 later, she got pregnant again - with a singleton that time. Thank goodness!

My grandmother had my aunt when she was in her 40's. The only problem with that was, my aunt was parentless when she was 23. So...That is something to look at. But obviously you've already thought of all this :) and just want some support.

I'll support you! Start trying and have fun doing it! Woohoo!

Clearly youre not too old ! There are risks for everyone someon more than others. Take your chances and give your husband a baby if it is possible. Good luck

My cousin had a baby at 40 & her little girl is active and healthy and happy :) apparently she has a slight problem with one of her kidney's but it doens't slow her down at all.

I also have a friend who is pregnant with her first child and she's 40. Everything seems to be going fine so far!

However I do babysit a child with ds and his parent's had him later in life. So I guess it's just a gamble!

If you know the risks and you want another baby then I say go for it.

Some men start a second family and sometimes a 1st at a later date. It sounds like you have a good guy, has he did a sperm count and been checked. Some women have menopause babies. Their are women that are young that have high risk pregnancies, their is always a risk. I
i wish you and yours the best and baby dust to you!
