what if I haven't had my period yet Posted: 07-01-06 01:32am
Hi, i've been on birth control for three
years. I've switched brands a few times,
but i've been on this brand for about a
year, so that shouldn't make a difference.
My question is: what if I haven't had my
period yet? This is the 6th day of my
inactive pills and I have only had some
dark splotches (i usually get that right
before I start my period but I haven't
started yet). I always start on the night
of the third or the morning of the fourth
inactive pill. One time I started on the
fifth morning.
Is it normal to miss a period while on the
pill? They were always really light, but
I don't think that this splotching counts.
Could it be that i've been eating a lot
more lately? I've probably put on about
ten pounds in the last two months... But
I put on and lose weight often and it's
never effected me. Bleh........

Over time, many women soemtimes do miss
periods, or only have spotting instead.
This can be distressing because these can
also be signs of pregnancy. Just in case,
it is always good to take a pregnancy
test, but most likely you are just
experiencing a lighter period.
