I am 17-years-old and I wear contacts with
glasses as my backup. I am currently
wearing prescribed lenses. Although I may
be young, my vision is at it's worse. I
wear -6.75 prescribed lenses. My doctor
says the strength of prescription glasses
reaches higher, but, at my age, that is
extremely high. If I do not have my
contacts or glasses on, I cannot see
objects unless I am 3 inches away from
them.
I know vision loss can be due to excessive
use of many electronics. For instance,
the computer and the tv. I use the
computer often, but, compared to my
friends who use the computer twice as long
as me, my vision continues to deteriorate
at an alarming rate. Why is that?
I am worried that by 30 I will be blind.
I doubt that this is some type of disease,
but I just need some advice to keep weight
off my eyes. What can I do?

I would go back to your ophthalmologist,
and get more tests done. If they are all
fine then your just visually impaired.
