Q: How Do You Handle

Hi girls,

i cant help myself but ask this question....Since i've been wondering for a long time.

I have a severe problem with pap tests, and letting the doc do his thing. I have to take anxiety pills before I go, or I freak out on him. Do any of you girls have this problem too?

Since it's a million times worse when your pregnant, and you have things poking and proding you constantly, how am I going to handle that? How did you handle it?

They don't poke and prod you constantly (thankfully!). There is the initial work up, but after that you go the rest of your pregnancy poke free ;)

in the end (delivery), you really don't care since you mostly just want that baby out of you and, honestly, I cannot remember anything traumatic about my deliveries that I wouldn't relive again for my kids.

At most of your doctor's visits, they will only weigh you in and measure your belly, take your blood pressure and listen for baby's heartbeat. No worries.

During exams and pap tests would be a good time to practice relaxation breathing (you'll need it for labor & delivery).

No female enjoys these exams, pregnant or not that is why like ingi says breathing exercizes is good and even in some dr's offices they even have pictures hanging from the ceilings another thing is communicating with the dr or nurse that is int the room helps to keep your mind off the situation and believe me getting tested is much better that waiting until it is too late and you end up with cancer. The same thing as getting a mammogram, even though you know tht that smashing machine had to be invented by a man.
