With my son I went completely natural. It
was a very long drawn out labor that
lasted 46 hours. Back pain the entire
time.
With my daughter I had an intrathecal
epidural. Which wears off after an hour
or two. It isn't a constant drip like a
regular epidural and your legs don't get
numb and you can still feel your hoo-haw
and all that. By the time it is push
time, you are feeling everything again.
The only downfall to the intrathecal was
that my nose itched like crazy. Insane
itching. Itching was all I could think of
and my nose is bright red in all the
pictures of that day and the next. Hehe.

With my daughter I went natural but my
labour was only 4 hrs (22min), with my son
I had nubain (graval and some pain killer)
by one about an hour before giving birth I
still felt everything except I slept
between contraction and was more
relaxed(cameron was born in 2hrs).
Honestly try going into labour naturally
if you cant stand then ask for pain relief
there is nothing wrong with that I just
wanted to go natural once and I wont
recommend it unless you have the will to
do it!

I had epidural with my daughter as I was
so scared it was 26 hours and I was in
hell. I didn't feel when to push or the
head come out. When I had my 2nd I
automatically went for another epidural as
I thought it would be long again and the
midwife didn't even discourage me. Anyway
the epidural didn't work and my labour was
only 2 hours. I was really dissapointed
when it worked right at the end and I
didn't feel the head.
This time I will definatley be going
natural.
I suggest go for what feels right at the
time but if you are in alot of pain then
just go for pain relief. You won't be a
'failure' you will still push your baby
out but you will be in a better mood to
greet him/her
I had an epidural with my son and loved
it, didn't feel a thing until afterwards
of course but if I have another child, I
am getting the epidural again.

I didn't have an epidural or an iv. I
refused all medical intervention. I did
allow them to give me oxygen though.
It was the best decision i've ever made in
my life. To be able to experience the
actual pain of child birth and to know and
appreciate the courage it takes to give
birth drug free is amazing.
I definately don't take child birth for
granted. And post pardom was incredible.
I didn't suffer at all because I had felt
the pain during birth. I felt the
stitches being put in, so I wasn't smaked
in the face w/ the pain.
I don't see how anyone could trust someone
to put a needle and cathader into their
spinal canal!!! The neurological damage
it could do is immense!! Eeekk...I hate
needles though, it's an intense phobia for
me. I panicked when they came for blood
work after I delivered her!!!
My epidural didnt work. Then they gave me
a "spinal" or something, that only worked
on my left side for a little bit then wore
off. I had back labor for 12 hours. It
was the most unbearable horrible pain I
have ever experienced. I was screaming
and literally wanted to die. Oh, and my
nose itched. God I was so irritated! The
whole experience makes me not want to have
any more kids. Ever.

thats why I dont like the idea of an
epidural because you wont feel when to
push, but im not ruling anything out yet
and just see how the labour goes
