Do you have a portable fan.. If you dont it would be wise to invest a few $$ and get one it really does help

Try a cool shower before bed. At least that might cool your core temperature down long enough to get to sleep. Leave your hair wet and the fan on, that might help too.

It isn't hot here like it is everywhere else - but it is coming by the weekend!

The weather should cool down for a few days from tomorrow, but then it'll get even hotter! Thanks for your advice ingi I haven't tried that before, I should try that tomorrow night because it's obviously a bit late now lol (2am) im going to try and get some sleep soon because I need some sleep tonight as i've got to meet my midwife at the hospital to go through my pain relief options in the afternoon.

I used to live in arizona and when it was really hot (triple digits) we would take our top bedsheet and get it wet in the bath tub and ring it out really well. It sounds weird but I swear it made sleeping so much easier. Hope this helps.
Edited to add obviously we slept under said sheet afterwards lol

I take a t-shirt and run it under cold water in the bathroom then put it on and sleep in it wet. I also sleep with ice packs on my body... I know both these methods are pretty desperate but they help me.

Oh man, I could not sleep without my air conditioning. Even when the room is 66 degrees i'm still warm and can't sleep under the blankets. Meanwhile my husband is bundled up and cold. Isn't pregnancy lovely?

I actually slept pretty well last night when I finally went to bed and I only woke up once! I had no heartburn either...Strange. I always have heartburn!

One thing I do that seems to help me stay cool enough to fall asleep is to slather on lotion everyhere, especially feet, and sleep with the fan blowing right on me. I also sometimes put the lotion in the fridge for awahile so it's good and cold!

Thanks I always sleep with the fan on me and it does help considerably. I think I might try going in the shower before bed aswell to see if that helps and put on my cocoa butter which I normally do after baths and showes. Fingures crossed ill sleep all the way through the night without heartburn like last night! I needed that sleep lol

Wow! I guess pregnancy doubles your own body temp. (i wondered what "the bun in the oven" actually meant.... Hee hee). I have had difficulty sleeping too! Have to have a fan on all night and also a wet flannel or towel nearby before sleep. Windows open. The funny thing is, I tried to have a cool shower before sleep and the water was still warm when it's supposed to be cold. Everything seems to be warm and not cold anymore. Alternatively, you can try freezing a bottle of water, then before u go sleep... Take it out of the freezer... And leave it by the side of your bed... So you can pick it up to drink cold water whenever you can. I am sure by the time you need it in the middle of the night, it's being melted. I drink a lot of water and that probably explains the amount of times I get up to go to the loo/pee.
