Is It From Bc Or Papsmear Posted: 07-21-06 00:51am
Well during sex today I bleed a little..
I am on bc and have been for almost 3
months now... I went to the gyno a week
ago.. And i'm thinking the reason for it
is bc of my pap smear? I've never bleed
before while having sex so i'm kinda
scared...

It was from sex and this can be common.
You would not have any blood from your pap
smear a week ago. If you'd had blood the
night you had your pap smear, that would
point to the pap smear.
Sometimes the positioning of sex can cause
the cervix to get irritated. Sometimes,
when the cervix gets irritated, it can
bleed.
If you are concerned with it, see your
doctor. Or call your doctor's nurse.
That is what they are there for.

It is also possible that what ever bit of
hymen you have, finally broke. I know
that happened to me almost a year after
i'd started having sex. I never had muhc
of a hymen; just a strip of skin thinner
than a pencil that went mostly
vertically/diagonally from the front of my
vaginal entrance ot the back. It would
occasionally get "caught" during sex, but
it never broke; mostly because it hurt too
much. Well, once, I felt the pain
assosciated with it being caught, but then
a moment later it was gone so I assumed it
had slipped off, as often happened. Only
afterwards, when my boyfriend noted I was
bleeding quite a bit (thank god we were in
the shower having sex; it would have made
a huge mess!) did I notice it. I felt
myself, and indeed, that tiny strip of
skin had finally split. It stopped
bleeding very quickly, and that was that
:)

Yeah I was thinking it could of just been
that. But to me it felt like the 'pain'
was coming from more towards the outside
of vagina.. I thought it might have been
a cut that was re-opened bc when iw ent to
the bathroom right afterwards it stung a
little and I dont have an std. Is it
possible that when I got my papsmear I got
cut and it reopened while I have having
sex etc.. Bc my boyfriend says I started
bleeding before we had sex but it was very
little

I'm not sure; if you started bleeding
before sex than I guess
it's unlikely to be your hymen! It is
possibly related to the pap; but unless
the bleeding is severe, I wouldn't worry
about it too much, unless it doesn't go
away. Then you should probably call your
doc for a check up :)
your vagina does move around a lot,
especially when you're "turned on" so if
it is a cut, it could be very easy to
re-open.
