Tb Sinus - How Long Will It Last? Posted: 07-22-06 13:13pm
I was diagnosed with lymph node tb last
september (2005) and had a node in my neck
excised. That wound then 'oozed' for
about 4 months. I also had a tb abscess
develop on the side of my neck which
eventually burst, and after oozing for
about 4 months, that seemed to heal over.
However, it started oozing again after
being seemingly ok for for a month or 2,
and has been oozing again now for about 2
weeks (not much though - the discharge is
easily contained by a band-aid).
I have been on tb medication for the last
8.5 months and am fully compliant with my
treatment regime. Other swollen lypmh
nodes I had do seem to be decreasing in
size...It's just this oozing which is
giving me a cause for concern - how much
longer might it last, and what are the
implications for the duration of my
medication? Initially I was told I would
be on medication for 9 months, but I can't
see the doctors stopping my medication
while the sinus is still oozing?!
