Should I Retest for Pregnancy? Posted: 07-22-06 15:00pm
I had unprotected sex on the July 5th. On
the 9th I thought that I might be
pregnant. My breast seemed to feel sore
around the nipples, and I had a whitish
discharge. My period was do on the 14th,
but no sign. I started to bleed light red,
but only when I wiped on the 18th, and
then nothing on the 19th so I took a home
pregnancy test and it was negitive. on the
21st I started bleeding again but it was
heavyer then on the 18th.and I'm still
bleeding the same way today and feeling
nausa. I just want to know could this be
implantation bleeding or my period? Should
I retest? And when should I retested?

It seems that you are not pregnant.
Rather, it appears tha you are now
experiencing cycle irregularity (a delayed
period) due to a hormonal disturbance.
Hormonal disturbances usually occur when
one ovarian follicle doesn’t ovulate but
turns into a hormonally active follicular
cyst. This follicular ovarian cyst can
produce estrogen which stimulates the
endometrium to grow and delays
menstruation. Endometrial growth is
limited and at some point in time, the
endometrium starts to desquamate. This
manifests with vaginal bleeding which is
heavier than usual menstruation. So, it
seems that now you have a false
menstruation. You may retest if you want,
but I predict that the test will be
negative again.
