Hello my question is about rivotril and
other anti anxiety medications. I have
read somewhere that these pills wich are
also used to treat seizures can cause
liver damage is this true. How much is
dangerous to take?
Rivotril is the commercial name for the
medicine. "clonazepam. Clonazepam belongs
to the group of medicines called
benzodiazepines. Clonazepam is used for
treating some types of seizures (epilepsy)
and panic disorder. Major side effects of
all benzodiazepines are development of
chemcial dependence and sedation. Liver
damage is important only for patients who
have already damaged their livers through
other conditions. Clonazepam shouldn’t
be taken in doses larger than 20mg per day
for seizures control and 4mg per day for
panic disorder.
