How far along are you?

Roughly 10 weeks, give or take, is when the heartbeat is heard. Some hear it earlier, some later. But that is a rough estimate.

Good luck!

By lmp you would be 9+ weeks.

Maybe you'll get an early ultra sound to check for dates. You will see the heartbeat then.

They usually feel your uterus to see by size and give an ultra sound to measure how big the baby is. Early ultra sounds are better at dating your pregnancy.

I know, it is exciting, isn't it?

On the bright side, you get many more months of doctor's visits and listening to the heartbeat and seeing arms and legs move around your belly - then the baby will be here!

Enjoy your pregnancy!

Mama, as you read in my topic thread, .I'm only 6wks &the heartbeat was detected during my trans vaginal ultrasound.

You'll have to let us know how your first appointment goes!

Not at all! It feels kinda funny.
It's just like a pelvic ultrasound [the one where the rub it over your belly]
except its a long skinnyish rod that they put up your vagina.
It gives a really clear view of your ovaries, uterus, everything.
It kinda tickles when they move it around to get different views.
It's no big deal at all.
Usually when you're early in your pregnancy they'll do a trans vag u/s.
Because a pelvic u/s won't always pick up on the yolk sac.
They don't hurt, so don't worry. :)
