Hi, im a 17 year old male going on 18 and
think I suffer from this condition because
I masturbate facing down. I recently
discovered this problem by reading an
article on the internet, and naturally, im
really freaked out. Ive been
masturbating like this for a few years now
and I knew it was always weird how I used
a different technique to most other males
but I didnt know it would cause any
serious harm until I finally read up about
it recently. I read to cure it I must
train myself to masturbate facing up the
most common way. Thing is, when I did it
facing down I was able to achieve
ejaculation very quickly and easily, and
when I tried it the normal way I got erect
but failed to achieve ejaculation but I
always thought it was because I was scared
of seeing it, so it may of been me holding
it back... Does it naturally take longer
to ejaculate facing up? As you can
imagine, im really worried right now and
im too embaressed to talk to anyone close
to me about it, advice would be hugely
appreciated, thanks.

Relax: I found this on wikpedia
'as of 2006 there has been no follow-up
research and the idea that prone
masturbation causes male sexual
dysfunction is not familiar or widely-held
within the medical community, and thus
should not be credited as such until
further research.'
sounds like it wasn't really researched
very well, this .T.M.S. And there is no
proof that it causes problems.
read what they are talking about, it
sounds like the tms theory is supported
mainly by lawrence sank and has very
little scientific or documented support.
Take everything 'medical' you read on the
internet with a grain of salt - it isn't
all true.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
What do you reckon I should do now then?
Im quite scared of going back to doing my
normal ''face down'' technique in fear
that what ive heard might be true, should
I try learning to do it the most common
''face up'' way or should I just rely on a
wet dream for ejaculation? I also read
that if you dont masturbate that it can
also cause you problems aswell, but im not
sure if thats true. Its odd how I dont
recall hearing about this ''tms'' thing
from anywere except recently when I
searched on the internet. I can still get
erections fine and had no trouble
ejaculating when I was masturbating ''face
down'', but right now im clueless in what
to do so thats why im here to seek advice,
thanks.

It might not cause tms, but can you pull
back your foreskin? I always masturbated
the same way and found it totally
impossible to pull back the foreskin,
since it was not "exercised" by the normal
method of masturbation, meaning I needed a
circumcision. It may be related to this,
or simply coincidental to my individual
case. If you can't pull back your
foreskin, you may have a similar problem
to me, and you can google "phimosis".

Hi jimmyeth. Well, I am a tms sufferer.
I've been masturbating prone for 5 years.
At the beginning I thought it was normal
to not achieve an orgasm through oral sex.
I just thought I wasn't as sensitive as
the average guy. But then I had sexual
intercourse, and well my girlfriend and I
were making love for 3 hours straight.
And I didn't even get close to orgasming.
In the end she had to watch me masturbate
to orgasm. It's very frustrating for my
her, since she feels like she isn't doing
something right. But its more so
frustrating for me, since not being able
to orgasm during sex is a large part of
the intimacy.
I also cannot orgasm by masturbating the
upright way. But i'm going to follow the
steps laid out on www.Healthystrokes.Com.
I've started my first week of abstainance
now. I'm 2 days into my non-masturbating
cycle. 5 more days and i'm going to try
masturbating the upright way. I'll keep
you posted as to my success.
My advice to you. Visit the website and
begin masturbating the upright way.

I have to say what a lot of rubbish
masturbation alone is down to the
individual and i'm sure you will find you
experiement with different things over a
period of years.
I'm a female and in my early teens I
masturbated flat on my back, in my mid
teens I masturbated face down - not
because I was ashamed or any other
rubbish, but because for both men and
women it puts more pressure on the mons
pubis and therefore speeds up and
intensifies orgasm.
Now in my late 20's I can not masturbate
that way at all, and I chose to either lay
on my back with my upper body raised or in
a kneeling position.
It all comes down to what feels good for
the individual and so long as it doesn't
hurt anyone (human or animal) else then do
what you enjoy.

I'll have to take kia's side on this. I
think it's a matter of untraditional
methods that are causing you not to
ejaculate.
I too have never been able to ejaculate
when having sex with a girl, but
masturbating on my own is fine. I don't
know about this tms thing, but I can
ejaculate either sitting in a chair or
laying flat on my back (probably the only
two ways i've done it).
It's like masturbating with your left hand
when you always do it with your right, it
just doesn't feel the same does it?
I also think it might be the feel. I
personally have never masturbated with
lubrication. So I think the lube from the
condom and the moisture inside the girl is
a totally different feel.
So if you've been a chronic masturbator
since you hit puberty (i think it was 8
for me) then yeah.. Having sex with a
girl is probably like using your left
hand... Or your right, if you're a leftie

I agree with kia....There is no
congressional mandate on how a person is
supposed to masturbate. Do what feels
comfortable. If you like to lay face
down, go right ahead. And mikal is
right, ejaculation problems are a
completely different issue.

With all due respect, you are a female and
do not have penis nerves to crush when you
masturbate prone for years. Trust me, I know.

I opened this post because I was curious
to see what this syndrome was now reading
on I am just curious, what do you mean
masturbating face down? Like laying on
your stomache? Also...to the OP if you
don't want to look at the ejaculation is
there any way you could close your eyes or
look at the tv or something other than
your penis? Maybe that would be of help
some?

I had to add my two cents.
I always felt that the way i masturbate
lying down was a little odd, but it
actually is nice knowing i'm not alone.
And to be brytally honest, I think that
the whole idea of TMS telling me that the
way I masturbate is somehow "wrong" is,
pardon the expression, a huge load. I've
never had any preoblem getting off before
in my life, the only time I have is when I
try to change the position. I think that,
as long as you can get off and you're
happy then that's what truly matters.
I agree with what some of the other
posters have said. As long as you can get
off and enjoy it and no one is getting
hurt then SO WHAT if you happen to whack
off lying down? If you have problmes later
in life than there can be a much more
important reason as to why you're having
problems. Do your research, don't just
jump to conclusions because one guy
studied a few people and came to a
conclusion.
I will, personally try new methods down
the line because i want to. My
intellectual curiosity has been piqued and
I want to know if I can.
Relax, you're not going to die because you
happen to jack off while lying down. I'm
22 years old and I haven't died yet. And
to be honest, If I ever have problems
getting off I try witholding the orgasm as
long as I can. It makes it all the much
better.
I have now shared more then I ever have in
my life and I will now leave. But just
because you happen to like one method of
masturbation does not make you a freak or
mean you have a disease. Enjoy your life
while you can.

This whole TMS thing has got me scared for
sure. I have been avoiding researching
this topic for many years. I finally had
to look into it. I have been "masturbating
prone" for nearly 20 years. I've had my
fair share of problems. I don't know if
they're natural, or TMS related. I read
through the whole healthystrokes.com
website. I found myself nodding my head
and agreeing with a lot of points that
they made. I *rarely* can get off from
oral sex. When I say rarely, I mean, I've
only gotten off once from it. I can't say
that I've had lots of oral sex, but that's
mainly because I know it doesn't work, and
I feel bad for my partner when she can't
get me off and thinks it's her fault.
I have lots of trouble with various sexual
positions. Cowgirl and reverse cowgirl are
a no-go. I will lose an erection very
quickly in those positions, and it even
hurts sometimes. I certainly can't get off
when having intercourse that way.
Missionary is about all I can do. This
seems to be in line with what was said at
healthystrokes. I do not have any trouble
getting off during sexual intercourse in
the missionary position. I can last
anywhere between 2 minutes to 30 minutes
depending on my mood and my partner.
I have recently started to have problems
urinating. I guess I am getting older, but
I'm not THAT old yet. This is what really
prompted me to investigate this TMS thing
further.. although I haven't heard of
anyone having physical issues like what
I'm experiencing. I can urinate just fine,
but when I think I'm done, I'm actually
not. 20-40 seconds later more urine comes
out, and after I'm all zipped up ... well
it can be somewhat embarrassing
I had a double hernia when I was younger.
Who knows if that was caused by TMS as
well..
I've tried the "conventional" way ... it
just doesn't work. I'm hard pressed to get
off even using lube doing it that way. in
the "prone" position I can get off within
30 seconds if I really want to. I guess
I'll have to start popping sleeping pills
and working on healthystroke's scheduling
system
Hope this information helps. If anyone has
similar issues please reply.

All that rings true for me. Except you're
lucky that you feel something/anything
during sex and have managed to climax in
any position. Until recently I felt
absolutely nothing during sex. Oral,
missionary, anything - it didn't matter.
This situation has only slightly improved
of late having finally switched to the
conventional method, using the Healthy
Stroke programme. Despite this I still
haven't climaxed during sex.
So I'd strongly advice you to do it. The
worst thing I did was not go with my
instincts on this years ago. I came across
the Healthy Strokes site and just like
you, I nodded in agreement with
everything. But then I went for a 2nd
opinion and searched the topic on the web
and convinced myself it wasn't a problem
because so many people said it wasn't. I
forgot all about it until I had sex the
first few times and had all the problems
listed above. Only then did TMS reoccur to
me.
I would advice anyone else who has come
across this thread in the same to not make
the same mistake. Don't con yourself into
thinking it is okay. It feels good for us
and is addictive, so of course we're bound
to think that way.
Good luck with overcoming this.

ok sorry about not mentioning this
circumcision vs no circumcised
There is no proven evidence that
circumcision has a purpose but ill be the
first to say that all what has come from
circumcision has been bad...
the bible talked of this act... and the
bible said do not add or change it... i
say we make a new bible that is
"unfinished" where we can change and add
and delete
if u need 2 speak with me personally

I'm sorry, but it is neither natural nor
healthy to have to have sex in the same
exact pose every single time. Humans
evolved to have sex face-to-face, so
having sex doggy style is about as
"unnatural" as you can get.*
As a woman, I cannot stimulate my clitoris
if I am on my stomach and a male is on top
of me. That means I get NO PLEASURE from
sex and yes, you might as well be raping
me. I could go read a book while you do
your thing. In fact, why don't you just
hump the bed? I'll go play WoW, kthnxbai.
DMA_XP, I would NEVER date a boy as
callous and inconsiderate as you. You
clearly know nothing about how a woman
receives pleasure during sex.
Moving on... Circumcision does more harm
than good. The male loses more than 50% of
his sensitivity, and his movements during
sex are completely different. A circed man
will thrust deep, long, and hard. This is
NOT pleasurable for a woman, no matter
what porn videos say. Women need quick,
shallow, gentle stimulation and this is
how an un-circed man has sex.
It is indeed possible that circumcising a
baby could in fact lead to TMS, as the
child does not have the normal sheathe of
skin to masturbate with. Circumcision as a
religious issue should only be done if the
parents are religious.

My experiences have been quite similar to
anonymous82, except I have not had the
urination issues nor quite the time
masturbating the 'wrong' way (maybe 8
years, from the age of 12-20). There is
no doubt that TMS affected my sexual
relationships with women, and at some
points in high school and college,
actually caused me to avoid serious
relationships with women.
I was fortunate to have a patient
girlfriend in college who taught me to
masturbate the "correct" way. While I am
largely cured of my issues, I'm sure I
have more performance problems than the
average guy, which is almost certainly due
to TMS....and like anonymous82, I too had
a hernia.
I'd like to point out that some of the
issues that guys with TMS suffer from can
be fixed with a small (perhaps 25 mg) dose
of viagra. You'd be surprised what it can
do for your confidence, and if it allows
you to have sex in positions other than
missionary position, you may find yourself
eventually able to do those positions
without the viagra shortly thereafter.
It's definitely worth talking to your
doctor about. Forget about the stigma
that may be associated with a medication
like Viagra. Your sex life (and your
partner) will be thankful that you tried
such an approach to overcoming TMS
issues.

eiri glad u agree with my standpoint on
circumcision...
next evolution is actually de-volution
scientist have proven that the human race
is de-evolving ..quote me do the
research..
who is to say what the correct form of
sexual intercourse is i go off of
opinion that the male is dominate over the
female and vice-versa proven
statistics show that the male has evolved
more dominantly,
missionary vs doggy lay flat (i really
wish this was a better term for this)
**opinion** """very very long ago""" if a
male and a female commit to sexual
intercourse missionary this leaves both of
them vulnerable to massive strikes to
there face through bites and mass
scratches to the face, arms, and upper
back,
1 zillion years ago sex was not a thing
about mutuality it was mostly
domination... if the female dominated then
she would lay on top if the male dominated
he would lay on top,
WE ARE PAST THIS!!! eiri what u
insist is a fight before intercourse
maybe the female wont feel pleasure from
"doggy lay flat"
BUT NOR WILL SOME MEN FROM
MISSIONARY!!!!!!
