Serious Neurological Problem! Gradual Vision Loss! Help!
Posted: 07-24-06 21:07pm

Ok, this all started about 2 years ago, I was living up at my brothers house and we would party alot. Well long story short we tried some nitrous oxide from balloons, people always told me it was harmless but I don't think so anymore. I had this one episode while doing it were I copletelely loss consiousness. I went into this dreamy state of mind were I felt like I was able to shift the way my brain thinks is all I can describe it as. Well at the time I though this was just an effect from the nitrous oxide but i've been losing my eyesight gradually from the outer edge of my eye inwards. Also during a nitrous trip I noticed myself go cross-eyed. Now it's almost 3 years later and i'm runnning out of options. I've considered suicide since no doctor has any idea what could be wrong. I even explained the nitrous use and everything but they took mri and ct scan, at least 4 of each over these couple years! I've always been very active and tallented! Now i'm slowly degrading quikly and i'm losing everything around me! My wife just found out she is preganant and i'm in a race to be able to live and actually see and enjoy my kid! I think it is related to the nitrous oxide also since all of my motor skills including sensory perception and hearing, vision, breathing, every single thing I do I have to actuallythink about, like no more sub-conssious thinkin is going on at all. I rarely find myself thinking of anything but suicide. I know nitrous oxide in extreme uses can lead to brain death or more importantly loss of sensory perception! I think this is what happened but my question is what woudl I ask the doctors to do? How is this confirmed or diagnosed? Are their any ways to just stop the degrading process and just have it stop were it is now? I calulated it and at the rate it is going I will be a completely useless body laying in a home in about 7 or 8 months tops! My baby will be born around then! Please please if anyone at all has any type of advice or direction to go with respond! Like what should I tell my doctor to test my blood for or loob iun my brain in whatever areas anything! I've been to every type of doctor and no one has even a diagnosis! Please help!
