I doesn't seem that you are pregnant, but
this conclusion must first be verified via
home pregnancy test. If the test is
positive, you are pregnant; if the test is
negative, you are not pregnant. If you are
not pregnant then may be experiencing a
hormonally active ovarian cyst. Hormonally
active ovarian cysts are created when a
follicle doesn’t ovulate but, instead,
develops iinto a cyst. The cyst in turn
produces estrogen that stimulates the
endometrium to grow and delays
menstruation (period). But this can’t go
on forever. The follicular cyst
degenerates in time and produces less
estrogen. A decrease in the estrogen
levels lead to endometrial degeneration
and desquamation. This manifests with
spotting. This type of bleeding usually
lasts longer, looks different and is
heavier than a normal period. An nfection
may be present (or not), independent of
delayed menstruation. To follow up, you
can consult your gynecologist and request
diagnostic procedures for identifying a
possible hormonally active ovarian cyst
and/or a gential infection.
