Late Period...
Posted: 07-27-06 09:27am

Ok. I'm on ortho tri cyclin but around the 17th day or so I accidently took my pill about 6 hours late. I still took it that day then the next day I took it at the regular time. 3 days later I had sex with a condom but it broke and I was worried so I took plan b 48 hours later. That night we had unprotected sex. Those were the only 2 instances we had this month, and now my period is 3 days late. I dont know if maybe the plan b made it late? Or because I got a gym membership and i've been exercising more the last 2 weeks? Or if i'm just stressing way too much over it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It probably wasn't necessary to take the plan b, since you were only 6 hours 'late' taking one day's pill.

The plan b is more hormones and it could be what is causing your period to be 'screwed' up. How late are you?

Continue taking your pills as normal.

Good luck.

3 days....And thanks for you're reply. So you think it's not a good chance I could be pregnant?

No. I do not think you are pregnant at all. I think with the amount of hormones you have in your body (from bcp and plan b), it is slightly confused on what to do.

Your risk of ovulation after missing one single pill by 6 hours is so low that plan b was essentially 'overkill' ;) but at least you are not pregnant, right?

Thanks very much, I knew it might be too much, but I have a tendancy to be extra careful when it comes to sex/pregnancy....And just out of curiousity, what is bcp?
