Discharge is normal and very common during pregnancy. I hope your doctor told you that.

It is very normal to have discharge throughtout your entire pregnancy but if it smells thats not exactly normal. Maybe its just because your sense of smell is heightened during pregnancy.. And your smelling it more.

Its the smell that worries me the most. I dont even feel comfortable have intercourse with my partner because i'm afraid he will get disgusted . I now for sure that I dont have any kind of infections. It just still worries me.

Maybe you should consult your Dr. Again about the intensity of the odor.

they didn't ask you if you wanted an std test done? I thought they did that automatically to rule things out and to make sure you were healthy?

no, they don't do it 'automatically'. A lot of people assume when they get a pap smear done they are also being tested for stds. Pap smears only detect cervical abnormalities.

Sounds like it could be yeast. Good luck!

Thats just great!! So all this time im thinking they tested me for std's and for all I know I could be carrying an infection.. When they gave me my results they just said I was negative, syphilis, gonorrhea and no they didnt ask me if I wanted to get tested for std's. . Well thanks to all. Im going to call my Dr. Asap..Can anyone tell me how they test for yeast?

If they told you that you were negative, then they could have tested you.

But as a general rule of thumb, they do not test for those things when they do a general pap smear!

Yea, from what I know, they don't test for .S.T.D's on a pap. Now when I had my 1st prenatal the ran a blood test for ghonnorhea(sp?), herpes, syphillis, and .H.I.V.

All the tests came back negative and my pap came back normal.

If you would've had a yeast infection during the pap it would've come back abnormal, and they would've done further testing.

My friend had a pap done at her normal check up and it came back abnormal. They then did a blood and urine test on her and come to find out she was pregnant. She hadn't missed her period yet when they had done the pap so she had no clue!

I had terrible discharge and my doctor checked it out and said it was nothing to worry about. He said out blood vessels start flowing more and our secretions increase.

If it doesn't smell, I don't think you should have any problem. But your best bet would be to ask your doctor!!

Let us know!

Sarah
