Silly Question, But... Posted: 07-31-06 15:14pm
We're planning on getting .Alyvia's
portraits done as soon as possible for her
birth announcements. But the portrait
place is in the local mall. At what age
is it okay to bring a newborn into public?
(my due date is in 8 days! *dance*)

It is okay to bring a newborn the moment
they are out of the hospital. They are
people and need fresh air and its best to
get them used to everyday sounds as early
as possible!

Everyone has their own opinion, I brought
trey out when he was 7 days old. It was
toooo hot in the house. My sil brought
her new baby out the day they got home
from the hosp (he was 2 days old-last
monday!!) the first place babies live is
in a hosp so if they're gonna catch
anything it'd be there is my thinking.
But then again others wait till 4-8 weeks
to take them out (i myself would go nuts
in the house for 1-2 months!!)
Our ped. Advised that taking him outside
to get fresh air is fine, however, keep
him away from public places for 6 weeks as
newborns do not have an immune system
right away.
