Child Interstate Notification Another Crack In Roe
Posted: 08-02-06 10:41am

Washington, dc - jul 27, 2006 on tuesday, the u.S. Senate passed the child interstate abortion notification act, which would prohibit the transport of minor girls across state lines for the purpose of obtaining an abortion. Operation rescue believes that this is another step forward in a new movement to legislate restrictions on abortion, and ultimately lead to a national ban on the increasingly unpopular procedure.

“the child interstate abortion notification act is yet another crack in the crumbling foundations of roe v. Wade,” said operation rescue president troy newman. “we know that this legislation will save lives and further impair the ability of the abortion industry to profit from human suffering.”

“the momentum in the legislative arena has clearly shifted to our favor,” said newman. “just 14 year ago, congress and other legislatures across the country were thinking up ways to restrict christians who were trying to save babies from abortion. Today, they are thinking up ways to stop abortionists from killing babies. That is a fundamental shift that reflects the fact that a growing number of americans would like to see an end to abortion in this nation.”
the child interstate abortion notification act provides criminal fines and jail time for up to one year for knowingly committing an abortion on an out-of- state minor without parental consent. It also provides civil remedies for moms and dads whose parental rights are violated by scoff-law abortionists.

“in a large number of cases, minor girls are taken out of state for an abortion in order to protect the pedophile who impregnated her from being discovered by her family and/or law enforcement,” said newman. “this law gives parents and police one more tool to protect young girls from continued sexual exploitation while it tacks another nail in roe’s coffin. We applaud the senate for that.”

president george w. Bush has indicated he will sign the bill once it reaches his desk sometime in the fall.

So these people are damning any teenage girls to forced birthing in states where abortion has stupidly been outlawed. The only thing I see happening with this is more unwanted kids being packed into foster homes, more kids being improperly cared for by inexperienced young mothers, more kids being neglected and abused by mothers who never wanted them to begin with, and more kids being abandoned. Now pro-lifers, would you care to tell me how you think any of those outcomes is at all good? If you're so pro-life why would you support bring unwanted children into a life where they will be at a higher risk for being neglected or worse?

Hey if a teen girl asks someone to kick her in the gut because she can't legally abort, then fine. I don't want to hear the whining because a desperate woman will do almost anything to end an unwanted pregnancy. Taking away these rights from teen girls will not help the situation, but as long as those babies are saved, that's all that matters. Who cares if they spend their childhoods in foster care or they live crappy lives with resentful or abusive parents?

This is absolutely horrible! Imprisoning teens in state borders! What's next, placing them in special "pregnancy camps" to ensure that they are healthy baby factories, and to make sure that their heads are forced full of religious propaganda?

I would like to know when parents became the enemy? I find the trend to take rights away from parents very alarming. This could end up a double edged sword. You start taking parents rights away....And soon it won't just be about abortion notification. You could find yourself without rights to medically treat your children, discipline them, educate them, or raise them the way you feel is right. Allowing the government to have a say in parental rights is very dangerous and regardless of which side of the abortion issue you are on....You should find this somewhat scary if you have kids.

I kind of have to agree with cambion and that will still not stop them from aborting. Let's face it, wouldn't you rather see your daughter have a legal clean abortion instead of your daughter having one botched and bleeding to death and waiting for the red tape to pass so she can have it done, if needed unfortunately that is what it is coming down to.
The jails are so full now that they are having to release some jailers early such as those that are selling making and using meth and what-not. We only have enough workers to run our jail, I believe it is 2/3rds full due to cut backs.
More people will get into running foster care homes due to the money not because of the love.
When you sit there and preach to your kids that they will not get an abortion if they become pregnant and that you will raise the child or will at least help, that might be the wrong thing to do, that could cause rebellion and that chid may not want a chid or someone else raising their child.
It is scarry raising kids nowadays, my .Daughter's timebomb is ticking and she still tells me that she is not ready that she helps with 27 special per day and even helps some of them on weekends, getting them out and doing things with them and her b/f.
I feel that the government wants to put their hands in ecerything and really mess things up, after all this war in iraq should be over but I doubt if it ever will be.
