What Happened to My Sex Drive??! Posted: 08-02-06 14:17pm
I have been on kariva (generic brand of
mercette) for about 8 months now. I
didn't notice any problems in the
beginning and my sex drive was normal, but
just recently I think it has
disappeared!
I am attracted to my boyfriend and love
him very much, so it's not like I am
uninterested. Also, I am at work from
730am to 730 pm and commute to the city so
thought maybe the stress and long hours
make me tired and not interested in sex.
Advice please!

They tell you losing your sex drive or not
having it be what it was is a side effect
on any birth control. Ive been on lutera
for a few months, I noticed a small
decrease but not much. Use ky jelly and
your boyfriend should understand that this
is a major side effect of the pill.

Honestly I think it has a lot to do with
ur brithcontrol pill, maybe your body
can't handle the dosage..It probably is
too high.. I was on the depo-shot and it
did the same thing to me.. I wasn't
feeling up to it... Now im on the
nuvaring and I feel much better .. I
think you should talk to ur Dr. And see
if you can switch to something else,
because these effects sre not going to
leave... Hopefully you find the right
bc....

Thank you for your feedback. I think it
is the birth control because a little into
sugar pill week and a few days after my
sex drive felt normal and regular. But a
few days into my new pack and i'm not so
interested. I guess I will have to go
back and try a new one...

Have you tried the iud? A lot of females
are saying that it works great for them.
All the best!

Thanks for the suggestion but I just read
up on iud and it does not sound like it is
for me! I am not a fan of having to
regularly check up down there!

I have been on many brands of birth
control pill and all had the effect of
killing my sex drive. I finally decided
to stop hormonal birth control and only
now is my sex drive beginning to make some
reappearance. It is very frustrating.
You know if they had a birth control pill
for men that had the side effect of
killing sex drive in most users they would
not even market it, I guarantee...

Haha cln I think you're totally right!
Us women have to suffer through
everything! =( I don't think men would
even be capable of taking a pill at the
same time everyday =p
