For years now i've been afflicted with
headaches. I never thought much about
them, they weren't too bad and seemed to
come and go. About two years ago, I had a
string of painful migraines that were
bothering me enough I requested to go the
doctor (i'm 15, if that matters). He
accused me of being depressed and said it
was all in my head. For months now (i'm
gonna estimate since february) i've been
getting more painful ones. I thought at
first they were jaw related, b/c the pain
started around my upper jaw and traveled
to my temples. Now i'm not so sure.
I get these headaches almost every day (i
have one as I type this), and within the
past month, dizzy spells have accompanied
them. I got my period today, and along
with it the worst dizzy spell i've ever
had (i don't know if there is a
correlation or not- but I thought it was
interesting to note). I've been keeping a
log of what I eat and what i'm doing when
they occur and can find no link. I've
mentioned these headaches numerous times
before (each time my parents go "we've
never heard that!", when I know they have,
many times) this latest time they promised
to take me to a doctor- nearly a month
later, they have not.
These dizzy spells are starting to worry
me, but I don't want to beg my parents to
pay the money for a doctor's appointment
just to be told it's all in my head. (and
no, I am not depressed, I know that much.)
I know I should, but before I do, does
anyone have a similar experience? Does
this sound like it's really a problem, or
does it sound to you guys like it's just
my imagination?
Ps- I forgot to mention that over the
counter painkillers like aspirin and
ibuprofen do nothing for these headaches.
