Desperate For Advice About Everything Pregnancy Posted: 08-03-06 15:17pm
Hello all
i am new to this but I need advice because
I am finding that doctors are not helping
right now. Ok I have never had a regualr
cycle so when I was 14 I went on the pill
and stayed on it until last august. I was
21. Now it has been almost a year and I
had a period last october and on june 3rd.
Since june 3rd I spot a lot and has gone
to my doctors often. Now my bf of 7
years and I want to try but not try to
have a baby. Sounds odd but we just dont
use birth control, and we havnt since
december. I was thinking about taking my
temps. I went to my doctor and he put me
on progesterone pills to take for a week a
month then I get a period every month, but
when I took it in may I had a period for 3
weeks almost until june 3rd. He wants to
put me back on birthcontrol, but I dont
wanna. So I got a second opinion and she
sent me for an ultrasound and it came back
normal, and I had a pap test and that came
back normal. My bf and I have sex
regularly, but for the past 3-4 days I
have had this weird spotting first it was
a bright red, but watery looking, then it
turned brown with clots. But it only
occurred when I went to the bathroom.
And I have had cm but not a great amount.
Sorry to be graphic but since I dont know
when I ovulate or if I even do and I have
some pregnancy signs at the moment. Has
anyone gone through this or has any advice
of what to do next. This is all new to
me and so many woman I know have had
trouble conceiving and I would rather not
have to go through what they have to get
pregnant.
I am just so frustrated cuz all the
doctors are not giving answers or
options.
Thank you.

You need to find a doctor who is willing
to start some tests. If it has been a
year and a half since you got off of bc
and you still aren't really having much of
a cycle, you need a doctor who will look
into this. The few things that your
second doctor did are a good start but
they can do bloodwork at different points
in a cycle to tell what is going on and if
you are or are not ovulating. Are you
going to a regular family practice doctor
or have you been to an ob/gyn?

Hi ,
thank you for replying first of all. I
had a family doctor for years and he was
the one who did not seem too concerned
about it and wanted to put me back on the
birth control pill when I told him I didnt
want to. So I found a woman family
doctor that I go to know and she is
referring me to a gyno on monday. It
really made me angry that my first family
doctor did not listen to me and he didnt
seem too concerned. I told him that I am
worried that I am not having a regualr
cycle, but I want to find out why off
birthcontrol. He seemed focused on just
making me have my period.
So off to the gyno I go next week, wish me
luck :)

Glad to hear that you are going to see a
gyn. They have some basic blood tests
they can run to check your hormones to see
what is going on. When I got of the pill
to get pregnant with #1, I had to use
progesterone several times to get my
period back to normal and then when it did
return, I still wasn't ovulating. I had
to take clomid for that. It took over a
year for my body to start doing what it
was supposed to do on its own. Hopefully
you will get some answers to your
questions. Let me know how it goes.
