Diagnosing Severe Pain in the Stomach Area Posted: 08-04-06 14:33pm
I have had severe pain in my stomach area
righ in the middle of the breast bone-I
looked up the pain location on the
computer, the computer showed me
Epigastric Hernia- The pain is pretty
intense. I also have some dull aches in my
right groin area-I did have surgery in
this area about one in a half yeras ago
for hernia-could it be scar tissue ? I
about went to ER a couple of nights ago.
What stopped me was no insurance.
Any advice would be helpful.

You can request an abdominal ultrasound
first, and then a gastroscopy to help
diagnose this condition. Standard blood
analyses plus a liver status report are
also recommended as diagnostic tools for
the symptoms that you mention. In the
meantime, you can request a prescription
for some spasmolitic (trospium) and
ranitidine to help relieve the pain.
