Should women using Birth Control test monthly for Pregnancy? Posted: 08-05-06 09:48am
I have been taking birth control pills
continuously for treatment of severe
endometriosis since having an
salpingo-oophrectomy (sp?) 2 years ago.
Do you recommend to continuous birth
control patients that they take monthly
pregnancy tests since there is no outward
evidence that a pregnancy does not exist?
Is this something that I should not be
concerned about given my age and medical
condition?
You should know that the product I take is
Yasmin 28. I take my pills as instructed
at the same time every day and I have
never missed a pill.

If bothovaries were removed, then there is
no chance of becoming pregnant. In this
case, pregnancy tests are not necessary.
Birth control pills are probably
prescribed to you to supplement the sex
hormones "estrogen" and "progesterone"
because you are still young and you may
have many problems without sexual
hormones.
