Does Plavix raise Cholesterol Levels? Posted: 08-05-06 13:13pm
I was recently put on Plavix and am
wondering if there is any evidence at all
about Plavix raising cholesterol levels?
My cholesterol has always been within a
healthy range but recently, and since
starting the Plavix, my cholesterol has
went from from 180 to 210 and my LDL,
which was normal 6 months ago is now high.
I eat a diet high in fruits and vegtables,
no processed foods at all, no sugar or
white flour, whole and sprouted grains and
organic meat when possible.
Thank you.

Plavix prevents platelet aggregation and
thrombosis. It is used in the prevention
of heart attacks and brain strokes. Plavix
(clopidogrel) doesn’t raise cholesterol
levels. You might want to consider using
an anti-hyperlipemic drug like
simvastatin. You can also decrease your
body weight.
