My mother was diagnosed with ards and then soon after fell into severe sepsis. She has been holding a fever around 103 for 4 days now and has been off diprivan for over 48 hours but still has not woken up. The internal medicine doctor says she opened her eyes briefly the last two mornings. My question is the same as i've asked everyone, is her being unconscious considered normal or typical or expected considering her complications and condition?
