Period Cramps Got Worse........ Posted: 08-11-06 04:42am
I heard that birth control was supposed to
relieve symptoms of having your period
such as cramps or whatever pain... I've
been on my bc for almost two months, and
when I had gotten my period the first time
less than a month ago on the pill. My
cramps were actually the worst they've
ever been. Might my cramps get better if
I continue taking the pill? Or might they
get worse or stay the same? I used to not
have bad cramps at all when I was younger
but it seems to be getting worse and worse
and worse, and I used to could handle the
pain but now i'm takin midol cuz it's
feels almost unbearable, but hurts really
bad for one day usually, but on the pill I
started hurting a bit before my period
started and then it hurt really bad. Any
answers would be helpful. ^ ^

I am so glad someone else posted on this!
I have just started on birth control as
well & i'm currently experiencing the
same problem. Just started my period
yesterday & I feel like just curling
up in a ball & not moving! :/

I could be wrong but I think it could be
due to fluctuating hormone levels, or
maybe the particular type of bc you are on
is not right for you. I've been on 3
different bc's and they each give me
different pms symptoms. On
orthotricyclen & trinessa my cramps
were mild, a lot of lower back pain, and
headaches. On otc lo it was about the
same. When I took yasmin I had no cramps
or back pain at all...I loved it, but it
caused me irregular bleeding so i'm back
to trinessa (generic otc).

oh okay, thanks, well
i'll be havin my second period again soon,
and i'll just see if the pain is just as
bad. Hopefully it's not. Because this
time I don't have that pre period light
cramping as last time like 3-4 days before
my actual period started.
