Painful And Changing Underarm Lump Posted: 08-13-06 02:30am
I'm a 21 year old female and about a week
and a half ago I noticed 2 large painful,
hard, unmovable lumps in my underarm with
the skin being pink, turning to a light
purple. Ingrown hair is ruled out, as
well as absess because they shrank back
and never had a head or exit. They are
now two unpainful pea-sized hard unmovable
bumps that can only be felt and not seen.
About 5 days ago I again noticed one large
lump that, up until today, were also hard,
painful and unmovable. Now the dark
reddish (almost bruised) spot, about a
dime in size, feels soft and squishy to
the touch. Surrounding the main area is a
painfully swollen area about the size of a
silver dollar that cannot be seen but only
noticed by touch. Occasionally the pain
radiates all the way to my finger tips. I
have checked my breast for lumps because
i've heard breast tissue can also be under
the arm, and nothing there. Money is
tight, so should I be worried enough to go
see the doctor? Any ideas?
Any help at all is appreciated.
