I had a surgical abortion on the 4th of
this month. I was 7 weeks at the time of
the prodecure. My concern is with the
postabortion physical changes. While
changing my feminine product this morning
I saw tissue that wasnt like uterine
tissue that is normally expelled during a
period. It was about half the size of my
fingernail, pink and ,dare I say, rather
tadpole shaped. I was just wondering if
its possible they didnt get the embryo
tissue out, either part or all of it? I
had a week without bleeding, it was just a
clear water discharge and only with in the
last two days started bleeding lightly. I
realize my doctor is probably the only
definative answer but I thought maybe
someone one here might have some previous
experience or knowledge that could help.
Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for
you; maybe some of the other girls will.
My advice is of course, as you guessed, to
go to your doctor :)

If your doctor had not removed all of the
pregnancy, you would have had a fever and
signs of an infection...
Sometimes there is placenta tissue and
blood clots that could be left behind,
which are not dangerous.
It would not look like a tadpole or be
pink, a fetus would be gray in color, and
surrounded by a sac.. If the doc got the
sac, then he would have got the fetus
too.
Chances are that it is just tissue from
the uterus, because many women report the
exact thing you are.

just had to correct you on something,
placenta tissue can cause infection I had
an infection after my daughter and right
now because of all that crap...
Clots come in all sizes I had a large one
3 months after my son it was white/grey
and the size of a pack of gum I was
grossed out beyond normal anyways was
(placenta still)
the only thing you need to worry about if
you get a clot larger than a lemon than I
would walk my butt down to the hospital

Yes pregnancy tissue can easily cause an
infection, including the placenta..But
soemtimes a minute amount of placenta can
be left behind, and no infection will
happen..

if you have pelvic pain I would go back.
I had retained tissue- they told me over
the phone it was normal and would go away.
It never did-i had period type pains with
it. Mine was clotty/liver like.Never
experienced anyhing like before,i knew it
wasnt normal. Unfortunately if it is
retained tissue they repeat the procedure
again to get rid of it.
I hope this helps.
