Pregnancy Test - Positive And Then Negative??? Posted: 08-14-06 08:39am
I really need to have some advice on this
issue. I don't mind if people reply
publically, this is a username that people
who know me wont identify me with.
I took a urine pregnancy test from the
supermarket and it came out as positive,
so I went straight to the hospital to get
it reconfirmed and it came out as
negative.
To keep it short, I have been sexually
active for the past two weeks and been
using condoms. I'm not on the pill yet
because i'm waiting for my period to be
due which is one week away.
The nurses said that the test is more
accurate after my period is due because it
is too early to detect.
Directly to the right hand side of my
belly button I can feel a tiny lump, like
the size of a pea, but slightly smaller
and when I press it, I feel a tiny sharp
pain. I have recently returned to regular
physical activity so it could be a muscle
thing. This small pain, i've had it for
about less than a week now.
I don't know, the main reason why I took
the test was because, I dont know, I felt
kind of odd in some way. Could it be my
gut feeling? I just need some kind
feedback so I can sleep tonight.

Another thing, I get very regular periods
and I always get pms the one week prior to
getting my period. Well, last week, which
was mid cycle, I kind of felt like I had
period pain. Thats not normal for me. :s

This feeling is quite common - especially
when we are afraid of being pregnant!
You very well could have gotten a false
positive pregnancy test. If your period
isn't even due, the chances of a home
pregnancy test being positive are low to
begin with.
Cycles change as we change. Not all
cycles will be the same. Every cycle has
the potential to be different. You can
have pains during this cycle you didn't
have during the last cycle - and it sounds
to me like you are searching out possible
'differences'. Which is totally normal!
But the pain you felt could have been
ovulation if it was midcycle bleeding.
Sexual activity for 2 weeks but your
period isn't due for a week. Relax and
wait for your period. Pregnancy tests are
not accurate until you are late or due for
your period. All sex does not mean
pregnancy ;)
make sure to have your pills ready for
when you do start your period.
Good luck!

Thank you. I'm just getting worried very
easily because I had sex for the first
time two weeks ago. I'm 21 and I waited
this long. My boyfriend is out of town
for a whole month and he is somewhere
remote at the moment and theres no way of
contacting him unless he travels to a
public phone or writes a letter. :s
