i am male, 44 in excellent physical
condition.
I was diagnosed with slightly elevated bp
and was experiencing heart flutters.
Stress test had me at 95%.
I take 25mg of toporal daily.
My question is how does the excercise
effect the bp - short and long term.
By vigorous I mean 5-6 miles at a 7 or 8
minute mile pace.
Sprints, stairmaster 45 minutes at level
10-11/
i have worked out this hard 5-6 times per
week for 25+ years.
Am I helping or hurting?
Can this damage the heart?

Vigorous Excercise Posted: 12-09-06 14:29pm
The heart is a mussel and like any other
mussel except the penius, it will enlarge
with exercise. It is common for men who
have exercised that much over the years to
have enlarged heart and thickened heart
walls. The heart now has to push more
blood to more mussel in a body with lower
metabolism. This requires the blood
pressure to elevate.
