Hi everyone! Ok. .Im getting a little annoyed with myself. Ive gained quite a bit sense during my pregnancy so far (about 10 lbs) im 13 weeks.. Anyhow, im trying to stay healthy and I dont want to gain anymore then I have to... But I crave certain foods all the time. .Like today, and yesterday, I am craving q'doba (mexican food place) which is high in fat and cals im sure.... I want to eat healthy tho and only gain what I have to.. But when I have these cravings, their to the point where absolutely nothing else sounds good and I want to eat nothing else except for what im craving...Their bad.. I mean, its like me, my head, or my body wont let me except any other food! But how can I keep from gaining extra fat if I keep giving in??? If I dont give in, its like idont want to eat anything at all then. Is this normal??? I feel like a immature little baby who needs to have their way. . Lol

I think what your body craves is something it may need, not for sure though, so are you craving mexican food that is always fried and possibly greasy or just eating extra sour cream on all of it?
I look at it this way, cheese is full of calcium, so is sour cream, beans are good and full of protein, beef or chicken is good for you and tomatoes are healthy. So it goes on....And if you are able to exercise or walk quite often it won't be so bad.
Try to tell yourself that you need to eat a balanced diet. Fruits and veggies etc. Take your prenatal vitamins and you will have a healthy little one. Try not to focus on the weight gain too much. Most of it, if not all of it will eventually go away with a healthy diet and exercise.
We all crave different things at different times and that can change into other things(cravings) so it will get better. Don't punish yourself and enjoy the little things. I loved milk and oreo cookies for the longest time... Keep us posted and good luck with your cravings....
