Q: Advice for Conception...trouble conceiving 4th child
asked by: DoctorQuestion on August 20th, 2006
I've been trying to get pregnant since November and nothing has happened. I know that my husband and I can conceive because we have three other children, but we'd like one more.
I'm three to four days late and took a home pregnancy test which came back negative. Any advice that could help us out?

In order to conceive, you can try to have sex during the fertile days of your cycle. The "fertile days" are the days around ovulation. Ovulation usually occurs 14 days before your next period is due. Your partner can also request a sperm analyses. If everything is OK with his sperm and you still do not conceive, then you can be examined. Hormonal analyses, vaginal ultrasound and HSG can be performed to identify the cause of sterility.
