I hosted a baby shower this past summer.
The favorite game played by all was the
baby food jar game!!
You write down what ya have we had 20 jars
some the same
numbered them than numbered the labels
took off the labels and they had to guess
what was in the jars!!!!
It was amazing on how many people got
wrong!!!!!

I went to a baby shower and there were
guys there, so we had to have a game of
guys, so they had a beer chugging contest
out of bottles. The guys loved it. It
was so funny!
Another is to get clothes pins (the big
wooden kinds) and attach about 20 to a
hanger, then go around and see who can
grab the most in one hand with no help.
My mom had like 14! Lol
you can also put about 20 small baby items
on a tray and walk it around the women so
they can have a glance at it, and they
have to write down all the items on the
tray, the one with the most items wins.

I once went to a baby shower and there was
this game where the guests were asked to
bring in a baby picture of themselves.
Then we all had to write down our guesses
as to whose baby picture each one was.
Whoever got the most right got a prize.
This game works well when there aren't too
many guest, but just enough ( around
15-20).

Baby Shower Games Posted: 03-12-04 23:49pm
I have been involved in planning many baby
showers, and am happy to share what i've
come across:
baby bingo: this game is played while the
mom-to-be opens her presents. You can
make up a regular bingo card quite easily
on word, or even by hand. I like to use
pastel colored paper. Give each quest a
blank bingo card, along with something to
write with. Announce before the presents
are opened that each quest must fill in
each square with a specific baby item that
they think will be inside the gifts
(bottles, blankets, highchair, etc.).
When everyone is ready the mom-to-be
begins to open her gifts one at a time and
the guests play bingo off their own unique
cards. This is really a lot of fun, and
helps pass through gift opening time
nicely. We had a shower once with
approximately 40 people, and we needed
about 15 prizes for the bingos, if you are
chosing to have prizes.
Enjoy! I will share more in another
message.

Another fun game:
after you are done eating brunch or lunch,
or whatever you are snacking on, ask the
mom to be to leave the room. Give each
quest a paper with the following type of
questions (you can make up your own unique
list according to your guest of honor):
*what color shirt is she wearing*does she
have on a watch*is she wearing heels or
flats*does she have earrings on (these are
just a few question examples). This is
really a great game - it also gives the
mom-to-be a much needed opportunity to
take a rest room break!

Another great game:
pass around several rolls of toilet paper,
and ask each guest to tear off a strip of
toilet paper that they think will fit
around the mom-to-be like a belt (this
creates a lot of laughs). The fun part
of the game is that once everyone has
chosen their "belt", the mom goes around
the room and lets them measure their belt
to see how close they are, but they must
also give well wishes to the mom-to be
(one word for each square of toilet
paper). For example, if someone has 14
squares of toilet paper, they might say:
"i hope you have a quick labor and
delivery and a very healthy baby." this
game is especially fun with a smaller,
more intimate shower, and it can be very
lengthy with a larger crowd.
Have fun!

Okay, i've been to quite a few of my
cousins baby showers...
Cottonball fun-
what you'll need:
-big bag of cotton balls
-a scooper spoon.
-paper plate
-string
-stapler
-some kind of blind fold.
Directions:
-fill bowl with cotton balls.
-staple string to paper plate and tie it
around the person's head, like a hat.
-start the game with the mom to be
-blindfold the person and see how many
cotton balls you can get in the spoon and
onto the plate in a minute.
Its pretty fun..
The baby game-
-as people walk through the door, hand
them 1 clothes pin.
-you cannot say "baby" throughout the
whole shower.
-if you hear someone say "baby," you get
to take the pin.
-the person left with the most clothes
pins wins.

At my cousins baby shower they passed
around like 10 diapers numbered 1-10 which
had stuff inside them and when each one
came to you - you had to look and smell it
and write down on paper what you thought
it was.
Example diaper #2 came to me it looked and
smelled like chocolate pudding so i'd
write down on my sheet of paper besides #2
chocolate pudding...
Once timer was done they read what #'/s
1-10 were and whoever had most right
won.
You were passed around all 10 diapers one
at a time.

Baby word search.....Make a word search of
baby related thigns and there you go have
a timer and at the end see who has hte
most done and stuff.
Also name guessing game......Have a list
of boy and girl names on a piece of paper
and have them circle what name they think
you picked for a boy and a girl.....Both
first and middle name.

Rice in a bowl with safety pins. See how
many safety pins each person can find in
the bowl. It is harder than what you
think.. Oh yes they need to be
blindfolded.

For my wedding my sister and I had a baby
/bridal shower (she is pregnant I am not )
well instead of playing abunch of games
we made scrap book pages for our future
scrap books. The girl who hosted the
shower brought all the supplies and put
them all out on a table and then during
dinner the girls all made us a page. I
absolutly love my scrap book now and it
means so much to have all the women in my
life who I love to have played a part in
it. It was really special and we had so
much fun doing it together and giving each
other ideas.

Another version of the diaper game....Give
everyone a folded diaper right out of the
package. Everyone opens up theie diaper
at the same time, the person who gets the
"poopy" one wins! (you can put a tootsie
roll or whatever inside) afterwards the
mommy gets to keep all the clean diapers
:)
p.S. Anyone have ideas for a baby shower
when the mom had baby before the shower??
