My Brains Are 24/7 Active...
Posted: 08-21-06 05:12am

Hi every1, I dont know where to start. I am having this for 4 years now I guess, like the topic title says my brains are 24/7 active, its like been in standby , not really sleeping, and 80% awake. I can hear everything happening around me and I am thinking the whole time about random stuff, the whole night long. It wasnt this serious, I usually slept for about 2 hours a day for the last 3.5 years. But lately it became worser, no more sleep... ,
its getting on my nerves, I cant do anything anymore go to work, eat, sport, study etc. I just want to return to my routine of 2 hours a day of sleep, I know it may sound crazy to some ppl but its enough for me I got used to it.
And I would be happy if I got only my 2 hours of sleep back. Dont waste your time posting ways like drinking warm milk, or doing some pushups before sleeping I tryed them all nothing worked, I took 6 sleeping pils and I was 100% awake, thats not natural lol.
Any1 having the same/similar experience?

Have you discussed this with your dr? Maybe he/she might want to order a sleep study.
Good luck!

Me too..I know exactly what you mean. You can be soo tired, but your mind doesn't want to go to sleep. I think about stupid stuff that doesn't even matter, but it just goes from one thing to the next...Scenarios..Crap like that. I'll try to stop and say, 'ok, time to sleep, just think about dark, quiet...Sleep'....But my mind always wanders..For hours. It wont ever shut off untill I do eventually fall asleep, but I have no control over when it stops. I dunno.

Hi,

i had the same issue. It would take forever to fall asleep and god forbid I woke up at night, my mind would start again and it would be very hard to fall back asleep.

I slowly began to realize that I allowed myself to get like that. It was a learned behavior. You have to learn how to shut it off. It doesn't happen overnight. It takes time, consistent effort to relax. I learned how to breath and take back control.

Medication is not a solution. A solution is takes more effort but well worth it.

Hi

if you an insomniac. Here's a tip to help you sleep better, get a flat piece of magnet, south pole facing up, and put it under your pillow when you sleep, such that the magnet is directly below your head. I tried this and I slept like a log for a whole week, but the effect wore off after that, I guess its because the magnet lost its strength.

If that doesn't work, try orientating your bed in a north/south direction and sleep with your head pointing north. It did'nt work for me, but it might for you.

Rgds,

Do You Know 4 Hz Brainwaves Are Associated With Sleep?
Posted: 06-26-07 23:15pm

The four basic types of brain waves are alpha, beta, theta, and delta, with the type distinguished by frequency.

Alpha waves fall between 8 and 13 Hertz (Hz), beta are above 13 Hz, theta between 4 and 7 Hz, and delta are less than 4 Hz.

Alpha waves are usually the dominant rhythm seen in the posterior region of the brain in older children and adults, when awake and relaxed. Beta waves are normal in sleep, particularly for infants and young children.

Theta waves are normally found during drowsiness and sleep and are normal in wakefulness in children, while delta waves are the most prominent feature of the sleeping EEG.

Simply download and listen to soothing ambient music at bedtime and specific inaudible sound frequencies to sooth you day.
