Birth control pills have side effects but
they don’t occur in all women with the
same intensity. Here are some of the side

diseases. This risk is especially high in
women who smoke;
2. Mild hypertension (in 2.5% of cases);
3. Depression, somnolence and mood
swings;
4. Increased pigmentation of the skin
(especially when exposed to sun);
5. Weight gain due to increased appetite
and anabolic effects.
6. Nausea, vomiting;
7. Headache, and
8. Increased vaginal discharge.
