How long until Period returns after Depo Provera? Posted: 08-21-06 12:46pm
I was on Depo Provera for about a year and
a half. (couldn't take the pill because it
gave me horrible daily migraines) I
stopped taking it and got my last shot
almost a year ago (11 months) and I still
have not gotten a period. Is this bad?

Temporary lack of menstruation is an
expected side effect after coming off
hormonal contraception. The duration a
woman goes without menstruation is longer
when using depo-contraception (injections)
than when using oral contraception
(pills). Two years is the maximum waiting
period.
