Questions About Hip Scope Surgery Posted: 08-21-06 15:58pm
Hello,
i am a 22 year old female who recently
fractured my right acetabular socket in
three places. Luckily, the bone did not
fragment and I did not have surgery.
However, I have been having chronic pain
and now the doctor says I may have to have
scope surgery. I have an mri scheduled
and the dr says that when they do the mri,
they will inject the ink and also a
numbing agent. The dr said that if the
numbing agent takes the pain away while it
is active, then I most likely do have
something wrong and will need to have the
surgery. I was wondering if anyone has
had a similar experience like mine. I
have been told that it is a very rare
break to have, especially as a healthy,
active 22 year old, although I have had a
pin in my other hip as a result of an
injury at 13. I am in the military and I
hate to say this, but sometimes we do not
always get the most thorough medical care,
as the dr's are overworked and do not
always have a lot of time evaluating the
patient. This is also the third doctor I
have seen about my hip throughout the
healing process, so I am afraid that my
diagnosis' are not consistent. Any
information anyone might have about a
similar injury would be most appreciated,
thank-you!
