At 4.55pm on 21st august I had a baby boy called william darren george hatch. I started having contractions at 1am and went into hospital at 4am. When I was in hospital I was already 3cm dialted. I was on gas and air after that. At 10am I was 6cm dialated and then I was on pethidine an hour later. The midwife tried to break my waters but couldnt even find the membranes and stopped as she was worried she was going to poke the head. It turns out I didnt have much waters to break lol. I was given another pethidine at 3am and not long after that I felt the urge to push and I cant remember much of the last bit. I remember the midwife telling me to push and me thinking that it was a bit too soon and her saying the head was already out lol. William was born at 4.55 am and was placed straight onto me and my placenta was delivered fairly quickly. I had a slight graze so I was given one stitch which was very good considering william was 8lbs 2 1/2!! He was a big baby! William is doing great, always sleeping. My sister is changing him at the moment :d ill post pictures later on, well thats if were allowed to now...

Congrats! I'm glad your labor went smoothly. I can't wait to see pictures of your little man! (assuming they're still allowed here...)

I was discharged just over a day after I had .Aly. I probably would have posted earlier than I did, except I have quite a bit of stitching downstairs (still a bit tender) and couldn't hardly stand to sit down. ;) good on .Rose for being able to snap back so quickly after labor! It's no small feat to push a tiny human out through your bits!

Aw congratulations sweetie! Thats so sweet a baby boy. Pethidine is so cool. My mum had that with my sister. I've had dia-morphine for pain relief before and it makes you feel like your on another planet!

Melissa- I was let out 12 hours after baby was born. Pethidine is a pain relief injection usually given into the thigh but it wears off after a few hours.

Yes the gas and air wasnt working much at that point I didnt care less about the pethidine. It didnt really work for a while and I still relied on the gas and air but near the end I was begging for more pethidine and it wasnt long after that when I started to push
