I get this weekly email saying how many weeks I am and what goes on. Well it sent one about skin care and pregnancy. It says not to use benzyrol peroxide and other kinds due to be linked to birth defects. Well I was told it was the only thing I can use. Now im worried crapless over this. I have been using bp for weeks now.

Has anyone else used this during pregnancy and their baby turn out ok?? Please respond

What website do you get the email from?
Also, how much bp do you use? I doubt you cover your whole body in it, so I think you will be okay if you stop now.

Natalia, I just noticed you are from .W.I too...Small world

to the poster, I think you will be fine as long as you don't drink it or bathe in it. But to be safe, I would recommend not using it until you talk to your .O.B. Good luck!!
.P.S. How far along are you?

Pregnancy hormones can create breakouts, its normal. In my opinion its better to just deal with it than to take any chances with oinments that there is little research on in terms of how it affects pregnancy.

My doctor told me that the only thing to keep acne under control safely during pregnancy is to use a cotton ball with some rubbing alcohol on my face morning and night. He said that it won't clear my acne, but it will keep it somewhat under control. I was on a benzoyl peroxide face treatment when I conceived and he told me to stop using it immediately.

i just got back from my monthly check up. I asked my doctor about using benzyrol peroxide and she said its perfectly fine as long as you dont you alot of it everyday. And that theres no real studies done about it that linked to birth defects. I dont know what to do tho :( I dont want my face to look like a pizza lol, but I sure as hell dont want my baby to have effects because of what I do. I guess im gunna quit using it and see how my face gets and if it gets worse, I just find something that is safe.

Yeah, since there aren't any studies to prove either way... Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry? A few pimples are worth your babies safety right? :)

Check with your doctor.
A lot of meds are listed as "not to be used in pregnancy" yet doctors prescribe them because the dose is so far below the risk level.
