Brain Injury And Seizures Posted: 08-22-06 18:21pm
My mom had emergency brain surgery last
year for a fall to release severe
pressure. Now 10 months later, I went to
her house and she was standing there. I
asked her questions and she looked at me
confused. When she did speak it was with
jumbled words. I asked her to write and
she wrote "the" many times and then began
rubbing her face. I called 911 and she
had a seizure in the ambulance. Now that
she's in the hospital, she remembers
nothing of yesterday, her semi normal
speech is back. She is a little forgetful
of other events and people. Its like what
happened 10 months ago with her fall.
What I want to know was it maybe a tia, or
an initial seizure? Will she have
seizures from now on? Would this occur
because of another brain injury? She
always complains of pain in the area where
she had her surgery when she bends over.
